Behind The Song

I always found it fascinating when a songwriter onstage would talk about the inspiration behind a particular song he was about to play. It always seemed to bring it to life- the lyrics suddenly took on a different dimension. The audience would clap louder after those songs.

Welcome to a popular feature of the Jim Peterik page called "Behind the Song." In this column I will tell the stories behind the writing of the various songs throughout my career- the motivation, the perspiration, and sometimes a touch of inspiration. I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have as to which ones you'd especially like to hear about. Some of the longer stories will be presented in serial form.
